The brothers Stofferl, Michael and Karl Well sing about Bavaria and the rest of the world. With sharp humour, they guide audiences through the absurdities of the Alpine region – from ski lifts and small-town crime to hypocrisy and overdevelopment. Virtuosic music meets Bavarian rap, yodelling and rough-edged, energetic dance, very much in the tradition of Biermösl Blosn. On accordion, trumpet, alphorn, Brummtopf and other instruments, they combine Bavarian roots with global influences. Beneath the cosy surface of traditional music, they take aim at political arrogance, crisis mismanagement, populism and delusions of grandeur. They refuse to leave their homeland, language and music to political forces. Their answer is the “Bairische Variante” – nonconformist, satirical and always humorous.
