Steinegg Live Festival 2026 — 30 years of Steinegg Live!

The 30th anniversary edition of the Steinegg Live Festival begins on 16 October. The final concert will take place on 31 October.

About Steinegg Live Festival

Since 1997, every autumn the small village of Steinegg above Bolzano has become a meeting place for music and culture lovers from near and far. Over several weeks in October, the festival presents a programme at the Steinegg cultural centre that is unique in South Tyrol: blues, jazz, rock and singer-songwriters meet cabaret, folk music and theatre. High-quality local acts and international stars naturally share the same stage.

Each festival edition includes several recurring highlights: the Steinegg Live children’s and youth theatre group opens the programme with its own production, “Rising Stars & Local Heroes” gives emerging talents and local musicians a major stage, and at the “Steinegg Live Fest”, with a traditional Frühschoppen, dance music and a children’s programme, the whole village comes together to celebrate. Everything is organised by the Steinegg Live cultural association on a completely voluntary basis and supported by the local community. That is exactly what creates the festival’s special atmosphere: warm, personal and close to the artists.

Jazz lovers have also had plenty to enjoy: Joe Zawinul, Hiromi, Stanley Clarke, Barbara Dennerlein, Billy Cobham, the Mike Stern Band with Dennis Chambers, and Bill Evans with Dave Weckl have all performed at the cultural centre, as have ABC&D of Boogie Woogie with Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts. Another unforgettable evening saw exceptional drummer Jojo Mayer join the Steinegg Live Big Band for a tribute to Buddy Rich. The festival’s cabaret nights have welcomed artists including Monika Gruber, Fredl Fesl, Alf Poier, Biermösl Blosn, Wellküren, Thomas Stipsits and Michael Altinger.
